Oryctes (Rykanoryctes) agamemnon sinaicus Walker, 1871

Four subspecies are described for O.agamemnon Burmeister, 1824 distributed in Afghanistan and Pakistan (ssp. mathiesseni Reitter, 1907), Arabia (ssp. arabicus Fairmaire, 1896), Israel and Sinai (ssp. sinaicus Walker, 1871) and Egypt, Nubia, Sudan and Somalia (agamemnon s.str. Burmeister, 1847). The subspeciers sinaicus can be differentiate by the other subspecies having the body somewhat stouter but Endroedi clearly indicated that it is almost impossible to distinguish morphologically the populations of the Sinai from those of Arabia (ssp. arabicus).

In the figures below (2nd row) are presented the paramera of O.agamemnon s.str. and O.agamemnon sinaicus as represented respectively by Endroedi and Baraud. It is evidend that the differences between the two taxa are too big and I am wondering Baraud misinterpreted one of the taxa.
