Anoxia (Protanoxia) laevimacula Petrovitz, 1973

Easy to recognize having among all the Protanoxia the antennal club longer than the flagellum (see photo below). This species is endemic from Israel (Locus Typ.: Dan, High Galile) where, a part from High Galile, it is found flying after sunset in the dune coastal area between Tel Aviv and Askalon. It should be noted that only the males of this species are know and although I collected with Oz Rittner and Eylon Orbach many specimens at light trap in Nitsanim, we did not collect any female that are probably not attracted by artifical light.
